The District 196 School Board has approved the calendars for its 2013-14 school year.

The calendar is similar to the current school year, with 171 days of school for middle school and high school students, and 169 days for elementary students. The two-day difference is to allow time for summer literacy assessments in late August for all elementary students, which the district conducted for the first time this year and will continue going forward.
