District 196 Cancels Monday After-School Activities

The Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan school district will make a decision about school on Tuesday later today.

After canceling classes for the day, the Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan School District announced Monday morning that all after-school and evening activities are also be canceled.

The district has also canceled all community education programs on Monday. 

A decision about school on Tuesday will be made later today. With four days out of school so far and a potential fifth day on Tuesday, the district is considering adding school days. Parents will be notified in advance of any added school days, according to the district. 

Another school district in the area, District 191 has also canceled after-school activities and community education programs. However, the Burnsville High School Career Fair will continue as scheduled. 

The National Weather Service has issued a wind chill warning until noon Tuesday. Wind chills are forecast at 35 to 50 below.
