UPDATED: Eagan Area School Districts Cancel School on Tuesday

Districts 191 and 197 have canceled school due to the continued cold weather forecast for Tuesday.

Districts 191 (Burnsville-Eagan-Savage) and 197 (West St. Paul-Mendota Heights-Eagan) have canceled school on Tuesday, Jan. 7 due to the dangerously cold weather forecast for Tuesday.

Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District:
Updated below: In addition to schools, community education programs will also be closed. The district has not yet made a decision about athletic competitions, according to the statement on the District 191 website.

West St. Paul-Mendota Heights-Eagan:
According to a message on the district website: "All before and after school activities/athletics, including School-Age Care and Community Education classes, are also canceled."

A wind chill warning is in effect until 12 p.m. Tuesday. The low for Monday night is forecast to at 20 below. Tuesday's high is forecast at 1 below with wind chills reaching 40 below in the morning.

Gov. Mark Dayton ordered all Minnesota public schools closed on Monday due to the dangerously cold temperatures.

Athletic practices and games in the Burnsville-Eagan-Savage School District will occur as scheduled. Also still scheduled is the robotics meeting and the auditions for Shrek
