Faithful Shepherd Students Build Outdoor Classroom, Clean Up Neighborhoods

Students from the school partnered with the Eagan Fire Department earlier this week as part of several planned Earth Day events.

Faithful Shepherd Catholic School junior high students made a mark on their community on Monday as part of a much-delayed Earth Day celebration.

The school's seventh- and eighth-grade students helped build an outdoor classroom at the Eagan Fire Safety Center and conducted a neighborhood clean-up in the area, according Faithful Shepherd Executive Director John Boone.

Other school students cleared litter from local parks, planted seedlings on teh school campus and completing other projects, Boone said.

Eagan firefighters also brought the students on a tour of the safety center, with an emphasis on the eco-friendly aspects of the Green Globe-certified building.
