Northview, Woodland Elementaries' Destination ImagiNation Teams Head to Global Competition

A handful of students from both elementary schools competed against teams from across the state.

Three of Eagan's elementary Destination ImagiNation teams took home first and second places at the State Destination ImagiNation Tournament in Chaska this past Saturday.

Teams from across the state competed. Two teams from Woodland Elementary, the Natural DIsaster Dudes and DInamite Refused team, as well as Northview Elementary's Regular Old DI Team, were chosen to attend the Global Finals at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tenn. May 25-28.

"Destination ImagiNation is a worldwide, performance-based competition that develops students’ creative skills through problem-solving, improvisation, teamwork and independent thinking. Teams of students ranging from elementary to high school compete by age level in one of five different “challenges” or problem categories. The top two finishers in each age group’s category qualify for the Global Finals," according to District 196.
