VIDEO: Deerwood Students Meet Eagan's Newest Police Dog

The Eagan Police Department paid a visit to Deerwood Elementary School on Tuesday to thank police dog naming contest winner Tess Adam.

On Tuesday, Deerwood Elementary School third-grader Tess Adam got a special visit from Badger, the police dog that she helped name.

Adam and dozens of her classmates attended a short presentation given at the school by Eagan Police Chief Jim McDonald and Officer Andy Helgerson, Badger's handler.

Adam's naming suggestion was selected from roughly 1,700 entries submitted by Eagan students as part of a naming contest sponsored by the Eagan Police Department. The department announced last week that Adam was the contest's winner.
