Treasures Galore Gives to District 196 Schools

Treasures Galore: The Indoor Garage Sale Store is a thrift shop that just opened in Eagan last week. The purpose of the store is to benefit Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan schools.

Natalie Greenlee and her husband Michael spent five years planning their business, the idea for which came from the family's own garage sales.

"Our kids are very active in extra-curricular activities," said Natalie Greenlee, "and the kids like to participate and help as far as helping their troops and sporting activities."

The family would accept donations for their garage sale and then donate the proceeds to the activities that there children were involved in. They were surprised by how much they could raise.

"Let's open a store and raise some money for the school," Greenlee said as she explained the early beginnings of their business.

They want their store to be a community thrift store, which means keeping the prices low, "so everyone benefits from the store," said Greenlee.

Currently they are raising funds for a winter supply of tissues and hand sanitizer for Oak Ridge Elementary

Ultimately they would like to meet with principals or parent-teacher organizations to set up fundraising opportunities for the schools, Greenlee explained. At the end of the year they will split funds between schools in the district.

Treasures Galore is located at 1964 Rahncliff Court in Eagan. It is currently open Wednesday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Holiday hours will be announced in the future.
