Eagan 9A Boys Hoops Wins State Title
The Wildcats finished 30-6 on the year, including 12-1 in tournament games
The Eagan 9A boys basketball team won the Minnesota Youth Athletic Services state tournament this season and finished with an overall record of 30-6. The Wildcats were a tournament team—going 12-1 in tournament play and winning all four events they competed in.
During the state tournament, held March 12-13 at the Colin Powell Center in Minneapolis, Eagan defeated Shakopee, Eden Prairie, Bloomington Jefferson and Rochester John Marshall in the championship game.
In the championship, Jack Kelm drove down the court and scored with 3.5 seconds left to win the title. The basket secured the victory after JM fought back from a 20-point deficit to tie the game with one minute left.
