Wildcats' baseball squad to open postseason at Apple Valley on Monday
It has not been the kindest of weeks for Eagan athletics as both the Wildcats boys tennis and softball teams were eliminated in their respective sectional tournaments on Monday and Tuesday.
Softball: Eagan Eliminated in Section 3AAA Tournament
After topping 11th-seeded Bloomington Kennedy, 9-1, in the opening round of the Section 3AAA Tournament on May 19, the No. 6 seed Eagan softball team was eliminated in the playoff quarterfinals on Tuesday with a 7-6 loss to No. 3 Park.

Individual tournament statistics were not available. The Wildcats compiled an 11-9 overall record this spring.

Third-seeded Woodbury upset No. 2 seed Eagan, 4-3, in the Section 3AA Boys Tennis Tournament semifinals on Monday to conclude the Wildcats' team season with a 14-4-1 record.
Singles players Drew Nichols and Brady Radamacher will now join the doubles teams of Jeff Smith/Ben Eckstein and Brendan Hollidge/Zach Eckstein in the sectional individual tournament that is set to run from May 27-June 1 at the Lifetime Fitness in Lakeville.
Baseball: Wildcats Win Regular-Season Finale
The Eagan baseball team claimed an 11-8 victory in its regular-season finale on Monday afternoon to head into the playoffs with a 13-7 overall record after finishing in a fourth-place tie in the South Suburban Conference standings with a 10-7 circuit mark.
Next up for the Wildcats is the Section 3AAA Tournament, with fifth-seeded Eagan playing at No. 4 seed Apple Valley on Monday, May 30.
Girls Golf: Braun Leads Eagan To Second-Place Finish In Conference Meet
Shelby Braun's card of 77 led the Eagan girls golf team to a second-place finish in a South Suburban meet at Ridge Valley Golf Course on Monday. The Wildcats recorded a team score of 340, seven strokes behind meet victor Rosemount.
