Eagan Girls Cross Country Takes 9th At State

Boys individual runner Sidney Speir took 17th overall at Class AA meet

The Eagan girls cross country team took ninth overall at the Class AA state meet on Saturday at St. Olaf College in Northfield.

The Wildcats finished sixth with 212 total points. Monticello won the state championship with 93 total points, while Lakeville South took second at 118 points and Wayzata took third at 140 points.

Junior Danielle Anderson had the best finish for Eagan in the 4-kilometer race. She took seventh overall at 14:39.3.

In the boys state championship race, Eagan junior Sidney Speir took 17th overall. He finished the 5-kilometer race in 16:06.4.
