Eagan Girls Finish Seventh in Apple Valley Tournament
Wildcats go 2-2 in prestigious Apple Valley invitational volleyball tournament, losing only to No. 2 Bloomington Jefferson and No. 3 Shakopee.
Eight-ranked Eagan defeated South Suburban Conference rival Apple Valley for seventh place in the prestigious Apple Valley Eagle Invitational Friday and Saturday.
The Wildcats won 25-17, 25-17 to finish seventh in the 16-team tournament.
Eight of the top 10 ranked Class 3A teams participated in the tournament, along with Marshall, ranked No. 1 in Class 2A and Bethlehem Academy, ranked No. 1 in Class 1A.

Sixth-ranked Blaine swept No. 2 Bloomington Jefferson to win the tournament championship. Top-rated Lakeville North finish third with a three-game win over fifth-ranked Wayzata.
Eagan opened with a 25-15, 25-13 win over Centennial, then dropped a narrow 22-25, 25-23, 12-15 decision to No. 2 Bloomington Jefferson. The Wildcats lost to No. 3 Shakopee 25-27, 25-17, 9-15 before rallying to dust Apple Valley for seventh.
