Eagan Girls Take Fourth In Roy Griak Invitational

Anderson leads Wildcats to best finish for a Minnesota girls squad at multi-state meet.

Competing against 44 other teams from several states, the Eagan girls cross-country team placed fourth in the Gold Division at the Roy Griak Invitational meet on an ideal Saturday afternoon in Falcon Heights.

Danielle Anderson's fourth-place result—third among team runners—of 18 minutes, 34 seconds paced the Wildcats to the best finish for a Minnesota squad in the top high school division. 

Iowa's Dowling Catholic and West Des Moines Valley took first and third, respectively, with North Dakota's Fargo Davies claiming second. Wayzata was the second-best Minnesota girls team, placing sixth.

Also figuring in Eagan's fourth-place placement were: Anna Van Wyk (19:39.5) in 23rd, Alanna Stangl (19:51.7) in 38th, Kelli Praska (20:32.0) in 84th and Raissa Hansen (20:52.0) in 123rd.

Among the 410 finishers in the five-kilometer run were Wildcats Karina Johnson (20:53.8) in 128th, Phoebe Craig (21:16.8) in 167th, Reilly Hostager (21:36.5) in 199th, Elizabeth Frick (21:40.6) in 212th and Libby Jacoby (23:50.4) in 364th.
