Eagan High School Athletes to Watch: Football Team

As the fall sports season gets underway, these athletes are primed to lead their teams to victory. Check back each morning on Eagan Patch as we go sport-by-sport, profiling the top athletes on each team. 

Name: Colin Fisher
Grade: Senior at Eagan High School
Sport: Football
Strengths: A veteran offensive tackle on the EHS football team, Fisher was a starter every game last season and was part of an offensive group that averaged 360 yards a game, according to Eagan High School Football Coach Rich Sutton. Fisher, who weighs in at 270 pounds and placed at the state wrestling meet last year, is agile, has good feet and a strong understanding of the team's offensive approach, Sutton added. Fisher is the leader of the Wildcats' offensive line and is a very physical player and powerful blocker. 

"The big thing that we see with Colin is that he really provides great leadership, he’s one of our captains," Sutton said. "He’s much more comfortable and confident in his role this year."

Name: Pete Economou
Grade: Senior at Eagan High School
Sport: Football
Strengths: As a junior, EHS student Pete Economou was one of the Wildcats' lead receivers—making 27 catches for 344 yards. This year, Eagan High School Football Coach Rick Sutton hopes Economou can step up into an expanded role in the Wildcats' offense as a slot receiver and in the back field. But Economou has enough versatility that Sutton is considering making him a part of the team's running game, too.

"He had a great off-season, worked very hard in the weight room and put on 15 pounds of extra muscle," Sutton said. "He’s really provided great leadership within his position group and within the offense as a whole."
