Eagan High School's Stangl Named Athena Award Winner

Senior Alanna Stangl is captain of the cross-country, hockey and track teams.

is proud to announce that Senior Alanna Stangl has been
named as Eagan’s Athena Award winner in the 2011-2012 school year.

Alanna is a three-sport athlete at Eagan, competing in cross-country, hockey and track. She is a captain in all three of her sports.

In cross-country, Alanna is a four-year letter winner. She was All-Conference three years and MVP one year. Alanna served as captain and has been to the state cross country tournament two times. Her team was the Section 3AA champion this year and thus earned a team bid in the state tournament.

In hockey, Alanna is a five-year letter winner. She served as captain as a senior and was All-Conference Honorable Mention once. Her team was a state tournament qualifier three years including this, her senior year.

In track and field, Alanna is a letter winner past four years and has been an All-
Conference winner two years. She has been to the State Tournament in the 4x800 relay. She currently holds the school record as a member of the 4x800 relay team.

Alanna has served as a three-sport captain, earned thirteen letters and made six state tournament appearances.

Alanna is also a member of Eagan’s National Honor Society and on the LINK Crew. The Athena Award is awarded to the “outstanding senior female athlete” in each school. The award is based on excellence in individual sports or for participation and accomplishments in team sports. Stangl will be recognized with other Athena Award winners at a banquet in St. Paul this spring.
