Eagan Homecoming King Runs Season Best at Victoria Lions Invitational

Eagan High School Senior Peter Doebler finished the race with a time of 20:42.0.

The Eagan boys cross country team participated in the Victoria Lions Invitational in Chaska on Oct. 1.

The varsity team finished in 15th place overall and the junior varsity in 12th place overall. The team finished in seventh place in the open race.

Senior Peter Doebler was among the 38 out of 49 Eagan runners at the meet who ran their season best. Doebler was also elected Eagan High School Homecoming King on Sept. 30, according to information from the Eagan boys cross country team.

The team noted player highlights from Tuesday's meet:

Danny Ashland-10: Danny continues to train hard and enjoy the results in his races. He has made another massive time drop. Danny dropped 2 minutes and 8 seconds off his previous personal best, which was run 10 days earlier. Finish time (open race): 27:35.8

Dallas Krech-10: Dallas is one of the fastest finishers on our team. In the spring, you will find him with the sprints/relays crew. This day, Dallas turned up the pace on 1600 number one and maintained it through the 5000th meter, knocking nearly 2 minutes off his season best. Finish time (open race): 22:39.9

Andrew Westgard-09: Andrew is in his first year of cross country but is training and performing like a veteran. His poise "in the moment" contributes to his success and that of his teammates. His Victoria Lions time is nearly 2 minutes faster than his Rum River 5k time. Finish time (open race): 23:29.5
