Eagan took control early, then stretched a 21-16 lead with 8:27 to play in the first half to 41-27 at the break. Prior Lake trailed from 10 to 15 points most of the second half.

"I thought the real key was our rebounding. Offensively, defensively, we controlled the boards," said Eagan coach Kurt Virgin. "They didn't get many second shots and that was the key. And I think we did a good job of getting the ball inside offensively."

Eric Wittenburg and Ryan Patterson each scored 16 points to pace the Wildcats., while Jameson Parsons added nine.

"We could have played better defense at some points, but we went out and got after it," said Wittenburg.

Wittenburg said the Wildcats did a good job of getting the ball inside on offense.

"I agree," said Parsons. "We got the big guys involved this game a lot. We got to the line, too. And we did pretty well with our free throws this game."

Eagan plays at Lakeville South Tuesday in a varsity game starting at 7:15 p.m. The contest is the next-to-last in the regular season, with the regular season finale Friday hosting Bloomington Kennedy.
