Eagan Wildcats beat Lakeville South Cougars 5-4

The Wildcats hold on in the 7th inning to get the win Thursday night, 5-4.

The Wildcats played a strong game Thursday, beating the Cougars 5-4.

The Wildcats got things going in the first inning, scoring one run. Kevin Kunik had a solid performance on the mound, pitching five innings, and the Wildcats did not allow a run until the fifth inning. The offense was also working well; the Wildcats brought in three runs in the fourth inning and their fifth and final run in the sixth inning.

The Wildcats entered the bottom of the final inning with a 5-2 lead over the Cougars. But with a runner at first, the Cougars got a 2-run homerun with two outs, closing the gap 5-4. Pitcher Adam Gibis came in and got the final out on a called strike three.
