Drew was 9-of-12 for 137 yards and two touchdowns in last week’s 41-0 whipping of Apple Valley. Both of his scores hit his receivers in stride – one to Mack Nelson over the middle and the other to Aaron Roundtree in the back of the end zone. Drew also ran for 72 yards on nine carries, including one touchdown.

-- Grant Matthews (Eagan - safety).

Grant had two interceptions in last week’s blanking of Apple Valley, including a touchdown return to put Eagan up 14-0 in the first quarter. He also had a tackle for a loss. He and linebacker Alex Mangan are tied for the team lead with 17 solo tackles.

-- Trey Blanchard (Bloomington Jefferson - running back).

Trey scored the lone Jaguar touchdown last week in a 42-7 loss to Lakeville South. He finished with 42 yards on seven carries. He also plays defensive back and returns kicks.

-- Andre Rowell (Bloomington Jefferson – running back).

Andre carried the ball a team-high 11 times last week but gained just 31 yards. He also caught the lone pass attempted by the Jaguars – a 7-yarder from Antonio Robinson.

JAGUARS WIN IF...

The Jefferson offense has struggled mightily in losing three straight games by a combined 128-14 to Prior Lake, Minnetonka and Lakeville South. If the Jaguars can’t find away to move the ball, the results will likely be the same. A more balanced approach would also help: the Jaguars ran 42 times and threw once last week against Lakeville South. Jefferson cannot fall way behind early — it’s been outscored 106-7 in the first half this year — and its defense will likely need to come up with at least three turnovers.

WILDCATS WIN IF...

They don’t let last week’s 41-0 rout of Apple Valley go to their heads and they stay focused on the greater goal of improving every week. “Although the film shows, as always, that there is still much room for improvement, we came out and made plays to take advantage of the opportunities that were presented,” coach Rick Sutton wrote in his weekly column. “It was a strong effort in all three phases of the game, with the energy and enthusiasm building off each group.” With an improved offensive line, Drew Bauer and Michael Busch should continue to run the ball with success, leaving plenty of passing opportunities like last week.
