Gabreab, Johnson End State Wrestling Runs

The pair of Eagan wrestlers were eliminated at Saturday's state tournament

Two members of the Eagan wrestling team finished up their seasons Saturday at the Class AAA state meet at the Xcel Energy Center.

Jonas Gabreab lost to Rochester Mayo’s Jake Hanson 8-5 on Saturday, effectively eliminating him from the 130-pound tournament. He finished the state tournament with a 1-2 record.

His teammate, Mitch Johnson, was also eliminated Saturday. After defeating Owatonna’s Josh Woodrich 3-0 in the 285-pound wrestlebacks bracket, he lost to Shakopee’s Corey Anderson 6-2 to end his season.
