Patriots Top Rosemount In Monday Night Legion Ball

Eagan rallies from early deficit to win 3-2 over next-door neighbor.

The Eagan American Legion baseball team rallied from an early deficit to hold on and defeat neighboring Rosemount, 3-2, at home on Monday night.

Rosemount took a 1-0 lead in the top of the second inning before Eagan claimed the advantage, 2-1, in the home half of the fourth inning as Mike Marsh scored on a wild pitch and Matt Fielder came home on a wild throw to second base.

The visitors tied the count at 2-2 in the top of the fifth before the Patriots took the edge for good as John Melsarek was plated with the would-be game-winner on Ryan Burmeister's double in the bottom of the frame.
