PHOTOS: Eagan Athletes Show Well At SSC Meet

The Eagan boys and girls track and field teams competed this week at the South Suburban Conference meet

The Eagan boys and girls track teams competed at the South Suburban Conference  championships on Tuesday and Wednesday at Apple Valley High School. The Wildcats’ boys team took fifth with 66 points, while the girls team took sixth with 63.50 points.

Rosemount won the boys meet with 169 points, and Lakeville North won the girls event with 117 points.

On the girls side, sophomore Danielle Anderson won the 3200 meter run with an 11:15.90 finish. Teammate Alanna Lopez took third in the 100 meter hurdles at 15.42 and fourth in the 300 meter hurdles at 47.03.

The girls 4x200 meter relay, made up of Jessica Rupp, Molly Sparks, Alexis Dickens and Emerald Egwim, took third at 1:45.49. Rachel Gagne, Rupp, Egwim and Dickens took fourth in the 4x400 meter relay at 4:07.10, and Alanna Stangl, Heather Goff, Jenna Roux and Reilly Hostager took fourth in the 4x800 meter relay at 9:58.84.

Katie Kvas took sixth in the shot put at 38 feet, 4.75 inches, and Brooke Loeffler took seventh in the discus at 112 feet, 4 inches.

On the boys side, Derrick Mora won the 300 meter hurdles at 40.39, then took second in the 110 meter hurdles at 15.47. Teammate Jordan Allen finished sixth in the 110 hurdles at 17.15.

The 4x400 meter relay, comprised of Kevin Chan, Christian Bergevin, Tim Miles and Ryan Downes, took fourth at 3:32.13. The 4x800 meter relay—Dan Bell, Eric Bailly, Jordan Pesik and Chan—took fifth at 8:24.24.

Adam Peters took third in the pole vault at 13 feet, 3 inches, and Mora took second in the boys long jump at 21 feet, 6.5 inches.

Chan took fifth in the 800 meter run at 2:00.82, and teammate Sidney Speir took seventh in the 3200 mete run at 9:46.40.

Downes took seventh in the 200 meter dash at 23.72, then took sixth in the 400 meter dash at 52.27.
