Sixth-Grade Basketball Team Racks Up Wins in Tournament

The Eagan sixth-grade B basketball team beat out two competitors in overtime to claim the championship title at a tournament in Burnsville last weekend.

The Eagan sixth-grade B basketball team beat out two competitors in overtime to claim the championship title at Minnesota Youth Athletic Services tournament in Burnsville last weekend.

The Eagan boys took down Waseca 29-28 and Mendota Heights 45-25 on Saturday, before beating Lakeville South 31-24 in the championship game on Sunday.

Both the Waseca and Lakeville games went into overtime, according to assistant coach Quinn Woods. The 10-member team is part of the Eagan Traveling Basketball program. The team is coached by Scott Schachtman, Joe Pesik and Woods.
