Sports Round-up: Eagan Softball Improves to 2-2

Wildcats defeat Bloomington Kennedy and Wayzata to improve to 2-2; Eagan boys lacrosse tops Totino-Grace.

It was a chilly Thursday, but a good one for both the Eagan softball and boys lacrosse teams as both claimed victories at home and away.

Softball: Eagan Wins Second-Straight

The Eagan softball team won its second-straight game with a 3-1 defeat of visiting Wayzata to improve to 2-2. Individual results were not available.

On Wednesday, the Wildcats earned win No. 1 of the year with a 5-3 toppling of South Suburban Conference opponent Bloomington Kennedy at home. Abby Brinkmeier and Dana Holmes had two RBI each in the victory as Madison Haus earned the victory in relief of starting pitcher Ciara Rivera.

Eagan travels to Bloomington Jefferson for a 4:15 p.m. start on Monday afternoon.

Boys Lacrosse: Eagan 7, Totino-Grace 2

The Eagan boys lacrosse team improved to 2-0 on the season with a 7-2 win at Totino-Grace in a non-conference matchup. Individual results were not available.

The Wildcats won their season opener on Tuesday, topping Rochester Mayo by a score of 10-6. Connor Simpson had four goals for Eagan, with Lucas Petersen and Jacob Westrum splitting time in goal and making five and four saves, respectively.

Up next for the Wildcats is a trip to Apple Valley for a 7:30 p.m. game on Tuesday night.
