Sports Roundup: Boys Hockey Nets Two Shut Outs

Boys Basketball

The boys basketball team took it on the chin in the 80-40 loss against  Eastview on Tuesday. The Wildcats were held to only 16 points in the second half of the game—less than half of the points tallied by Eastview during the same period. The team rebounded with a close, 56-54 win over Bloomington Jefferson later in the week. The team is currently 5-4 on the regular season.

Girls Basketball

Despite a great individual effort by Sammie Delzotto, who scored 19 points, but the Wildcats fell to Eastview 74-53 on Tuesday. On Friday, however, the team picked up a 61-54 win against Bloomington Jefferson. Jess Hart led the Wildcats, scoring 25 points in that game. The team is currently 3-8 in the regular season.

The Eagan boys hockey team had a busy schedule last week. The team started with a 4-2 loss to Minnetonka on Tuesday, but went on to shut out Eastview (5-0) and Bloomington Kennedy (4-0) later in the week. Eli May and Zach Glienke led the Wildcats against Eastview, scoring two goals apiece.

Girls Hockey

Eagan High School Girls Hockey took down Eastview 3-1 last Tuesday and then blew past Bloomington Kennedy 7-0 last Saturday. Megan Wolfe led the Wildcats with a total of four goals against Bloomington.

Boys Swimming

A 16-point margin separated the Eagan High School boys swim team from Lakeville North, which came away with a 98-82 victory against the Wildcats during the meet on Tuesday. The varsity swim team's fortunes changed last Friday with a 93-73 win against Burnsville and a ninth-place finish at the Maroon and Gold invite on Saturday. Individual results were not available for the swim team.
