Wildcats Take Advantage Of Slightly Cooperative Weather

Eagan athletic squads get in full slate of games on a dry Monday.

The Eagan athletic teams got in a bevy of contests on Monday before another cold rain blew in on Tuesday to wipe out most of that afternoon's schedule.

Baseball: Wildcats Boost Record To 7-3

The Eagan baseball team upped its record to 7-3 on the season with two wins in the north country followed by a 4-3 defeat of Apple Valley on Monday.

After besting Blake (14-3) and Grand Rapids (9-8) in the Grand Rapids Tournament on Saturday, the Wildcats improved to 4-3 in the South Suburban Conference standings with a one-run besting of the Eagles on the road.

David Stevens earned the win on the pitcher's mound and also went 1-for-3 with an RBI triple.

Eagan hosts Rosemount in a conference contest at 4:15 p.m. on Wednesday.

Softball: Eagan 9, Apple Valley 3

A 9-3 defeat of Apple Valley in its lone game of the past seven days boosted the Eagan softball team's record to 4-2 on the year.

Morgan Haus went 3-for-4 with three stolen bases in the game. On the season, Kyndra Beekman leads the Wildcats with a .385 batting average, while Dana Holmes, Abby Brinkmeier, Kendra Callister and Kendra Karel all tied for the team lead with four runs batted in apiece.

Eagan is scheduled to host Rosemount on Wednesday at 4:15 p.m.

Girls Golf: Wildcats Win Purple Hawk Invitational

The Eagan girls golf team carded a 344 to win the Purple Hawk Invitational on Monday. Individual results were not available.

Boys Lacrosse: Eagan 13, Burnsville 11

A 13-11 defeat of Burnsville improved the Eagan boys lacrosse team to 3-1 on the season with a Friday game scheduled at Lakeville North on Friday at 7:30 p.m.

Connor Simpson leads the Wildcats with eight points, while Cullen Wilcox and Dan Bausman have six and three points respectively.

Girls Lacrosse: Burnsville 11, Eagan/Rosemount 8

The Eagan/Rosemount girls lacrosse team dropped to 2-2 on the season with an 11-8 overtime loss at Burnsville on Tuesday.

Simone Haugen leads the Wild Irish with 11 points, while Cassie Miller has tallied seven points on the spring.

Eagan/Rosemount hosts Lakeville North at 7:30 p.m. Thursday night.

Boys Tennis: Eagan 7, Henry Sibley 0

The Eagan boys tennis team defeated Henry Sibley by a score of 7-0 on Monday in a non-conference dual match. Individual results were not available.
