Cascade Bay Opens Friday

The City of Eagan probably couldn’t have picked a better forecast for this year's opening day of the municipal water park.

Partly sunny skies and a high temperature of 88 will greet visitors to on Friday.

The city’s waterpark, at 1360 Civic Center Drive, officially opens for the season at 11 a.m. Friday. 

The facility—which features water slides, a beach, a “lazy river” tube ride and a miniature golf course, among other attractions—will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. until Aug. 26. An “extended season, with pool hours of 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., runs from Aug. 27 to Labor Day, Sept. 3.

HOT WEEKEND ON TAP

The local pool might be one of the few cool places to be outdoors this weekend.

The National Weather Service is forecasting 90-degree temperatures on Saturday and Sunday and the possibility of severe weather Sunday afternoon.

For Saturday, sunny skies and a high of 91 is forecasted. A high of 90 and a slight chance of thunderstorms is on tap for Sunday.
