Inver Grove Heights Girl is Miss Brain Freeze

Kristi Schultz is the ice cream eating champ at annual Eagan Funfest competition

Kristi Schultz, a 14-year-old from Inver Grove Heights, slurped her way to the title in the fifth annual Brain Freeze contest Wednesday in the Juy 4th Eagan Funfest.

Schultz, a student at Inver Grove Heights Middle School, said she did not train for the event, instead relying on her natural abilities. As part of the brain freeze contest, participants eat as much ice cream as possible in rapid succession.

The secret to her success: "putting it all in your mouth and then swallowing," Schultz said.

Schultz is the Junior Miss Inver Grove Heights Queen.

The competition matches members of area royal programs, including Eagan, Inver Grove Heights and other area cities.
