Eagan is Accepting Full-Time Firefighter Applications

Eagan is hiring four full-time firefighters and a captain. Applications are due Jan. 30.

Eagan is accepting applications now for five full-time positions with the city's fire department

The city accepted a Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response (SAFER) grant that will fund the salaries and benefits of four full-time firefighters and a captain for two years.

The full-time positions are needed to help staff daytime hours, which has become more difficult to fill with volunteer firefighters, Fire Chief Mike Scott told the city council during discussion of the grant. Eagan plans to continue to run a volunteer fire department.

Find the applications on the city's website. Applications are due by 4:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 30.
