UPDATED: One Killed, Three Injured in Accident on Hwy. 77

The Minnesota State Patrol says a 26-year-old Farmington resident was killed and three others injured.

At least one person was killed and two injured in a five-person rollover accident that shut down the northbound lanes of Cedar Avenue on Sunday night, according to Minnesota State Patrol officials. Emergency responders closed Cedar Avenue at McAndrews Road/County Road 38 following the accident, which occurred shortly before 6 p.m., according to the State Patrol website. State Patrol investigators say a GMC Savana van with two occupants was traveling southbound on Hwy. 77 when it veered, hit a metal guard rail and traveled into the northbound lanes of Hwy. 77, according to state patrol officials. At that point, the Savana struck a 2007 Chevrolet Tahoe traveling northbound. The Tahoe had three occupants at the time of the collision. …

Eagan Man Feels 'Lucky' After Accident

Dan Sinner, who was injured by falling concrete, told Patch the accident was loud and frightening.

Earlier today Dan Sinner was traveling along the same stretch of Interstate 494 that he drives everyday to work, when out of nowhere a large chunk of concrete slammed down on the hood of his car, broke into three pieces and then burst through his windshield. “It was scary,” Sinner said. “A piece hit me square in the face, broke my nose and cut my lip.” Just after 9 a.m. Tuesday, a boom truck hit the underside of the Highway 7 bridge that spans Interstate 494, sending chunks of concrete flying into the air.
