Granite City Issued 30-Day Liquor License Suspension, $2,000 Fine

The Eagan restaurant and brewery has had three failed alcohol compliance checks in the last 36 months.

The city of Eagan is issuing a $2,000 fine and a 30-day liquor license suspension to Granite City Food and Brewery. The license will be suspended from Jan. 2 through Jan. 31, Eagan city clerk Christina Scipioni said. The brewery has had three failed compliance checks in the last 36 months, most recently on Oct. 24, when a Granite City employee served a 20-year-old working for the Eagan Police Department. Additionally, Granite City was cited once for serving alcohol before 10 a.m. on a Sunday, a violation of city code. “We conduct checks routinely and periodically throughout the city, varying the locations so that every place gets checked,” Eagan communications director Tom Garrison said.
