Charges Filed Against Bloomington Man Accused of Beating Dog with Baseball Bat

Edward Michael Scullion Jr. of Bloomington has been charged with bludgeoning his dog on the head in September in a park on the Eagan-Burnsville border.

Follow Eagan Patch on Twitter | Like us on Facebook | Sign up for our daily newsletter| Blog for us A Bloomington man who was arrested in September on suspicion of bludgeoning a dog with a baseball bat now faces formal criminal charges.   Edward Michael Scullion Jr., 27, is charged in Dakota County with two gross misdemeanors: overworking, mistreating or torturing animals and overworking or mistreating animals to further an act of cruelty. Each charge carries a maximum penalty of a year in jail and a $3,000 fine. An Eagan police officer was on patrol just after 12:30 a.m. Sept. 27 when he spotted a car parked in the lot at Casperson Landing, beneath the Cedar Avenue bridge on the Eagan-Burnsville border, according to the criminal complaint…

Eagan Police Arrest Man Accused of Bludgeoning Dog with Baseball Bat

Police found "Tippy", a black lab mix, in a remote area straddling the border of Eagan and Burnsville.

He's house-trained, loves watching squirrels and snuggling. And he's survived a beating with a wooden baseball bat. Eagan police are investigating an apparent animal cruelty case that took place on Sept. 27 at a boat landing underneath the Cedar Avenue Bridge at the border of Eagan and Burnsville. It sure takes a big strong man to maim a helpless dog in a secluded area around midnight. You knew it was wrong. You coward. Bless the officers that found him and my hope is he goes a loving home he sorely deserves. As for the coward, I hope he gets what he sorely deserves as well.
