Fairview Hospital Expansion Project Picks Up Speed

Tuesday, the city council gave Fairview the OK to begin Phase I of a major expansion project at its Burnsville campus.

Tuesday, the health giant asked the city to approve its first step in a major expansion project: the construction of an extension of Fairview Drive, which will link the road to Nicollet Boulevard. Once completed, Fairview plans to fully develop a 39-acre tract at the south end of the campus, which includes land recently purchased from Best Western Premier Nicollet Inn. The cost of the road work will be roughly $3 million, to be paid entirely by Fairview and its partner, Park Nicollet. The project also requires significant changes to Arthur …

Vote on $2 Million Upgrade to Joint Fire Training Facility Coming Next Week

The 25-year-old facility, located in Burnsville, is shared by Apple Valley, Burnsville, Lakeville and Eagan. Each member city plans to contribute $500,000 to the project.

"It’s essentially just disintegrating." Which is why Apple Valley, Burnsville, Lakeville and Eagan—the four cities that use the shared facility—each contributed $500,000 this year for a serious overhaul of the site, located near the intersection of Hwy. 13 and Interstate 35W in Burnsville.
