Eagan police say Ryan Andrew Gasior cried and vomited when confronted by investigators, who described the child's injuries.
A Farmington man accused of abusing his son was so disturbed by investigators' descriptions of the child's severe injuries that he began vomiting, then admitted to the crime, police say. Ryan Andrew Gasior, 21, was charged with one felony count of third-degree assault and one felony count of malicious punishment of a child, according to a criminal complaint filed by the Dakota County Attorney's Office. If convicted on the assault charge, Gasior could face a maximum of five years in prison and $10,000 in fines. Eagan police investigators say Gasior broke the seven-week-old infant's femur, caused bleeding in the brain and fractured seven of the child's ribs while caring for the boy in January and February. Duane Robbins, 56, is charged with malicious punishment of a child, a gross misdemeanor with a maximum penalty of a year in jail and a $3,000 fine. According to the criminal complaint, Eagan police were called to a home in the 3300 block of Coachman Road just after 5:30 a.m. Oct. 25 to investigate a report of a missing person. Officers met with Robbins and the child’s mother, who said her son had disappeared. Robbins told police that he had “taken his belt to” the child …

An Eagan father who allegedly punched his son following a basketball game faces new criminal charges, the Dakota County Attorney's office announced today. Steven Ohara Wilson, 52, was originally charged with one count of misdemeanor domestic assault after allegedly holding his son's head with one arm while using the other arm to punch him after the boy's eighth-grade team lost in a basketball tournament at Lakeville High School. Wilson was arrested on Dec. 10. But the Dakota County Attorney's office announced today in a press release that it is also charging Wilson with one count of malicious punishment of a child and one count of neglect of a child, both gross misdemeanors. He did lose all custodial rights to the kid last week. basically it came down to now he's just a sperm doner. And he's currently pending 10 years in jail, 5 for this incident and 5 more for domestic abuse by strangulation and a ton of other things. His trial is May 13   more ›
