Jonathan Thomas Lahr died of blunt force injuries to his head and neck following a fight with his roommate, Samuel Walter Petersen.
The Jan. 1 death of a 36-year-old Eagan man has been ruled a homicide, according to the Hennepin County Medical Examiner's Office. Jonathan Thomas Lahr died of blunt force injuries to his head and neck, the medical examiner said following an autopsy conducted earlier this year. Police say Lahr fought with his roommate, 28-year-old Samuel Walter Petersen, shortly before midnight on Jan. 1 at a residence on Slater Road in Eagan. During the fight, Lahr suffered facial injuries. He could not be resuscitated by paramedics and fire personnel, who were called to the scene by Petersen. The roommate, 28-old-year Samuel Walter Petersen of Eagan, is currently being held at the Dakota County Jail, pending formal criminal charges. The victim's name has not yet been released, pending notification of family members. At 11:56 p.m. on Jan. 1, police and paramedics responded to a call on the 4500 block of Slater Rd.
