I witnessed the beginning of this chase and came across it while driving to my destination and yes there were snipers and at about 3pm (when the suspect actually got to the bridge) there were over 18 cop cars. It was a crazy scene even more so seeing it from the start. You would have thought that the man would have had a bomb or a gun because of the snipers. I mean why the snipers if he was …   more ›

Eagan ranked seventh out of 315 reporting agencies in the number of DWI-related arrests during a statewide "Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over" enforcement campaign, according to information released by the Minnesota Department of Public Safety. The Eagan Police Department arrested 22 intoxicated drivers during the initiative, which began on Aug. 17 and ended on Sept. 3. Eagan is also listed as the eighth largest city in Minnesota, so just by population you could expect we would have close to that many DWI arrests. I am not condone DWI, but I think we also need to recognize the excellent job the Eagan Police Department is doing stopping these people from driving while under the influence.   more ›

Thanks for this post. I was driving home from a meeting and headed west on Deerwood, smack into the middle of all of this. Traffic was being diverted north. When I eventually found my way to Blackhawk and headed south a few blocks, there were squads on the grass and a man lying on the sidewalk, head on a pillow. No idea if this was part of the greater incident or peripheral. Anyway, thanks for …   more ›
