Pinewood Community School went back in time Friday night for its annual Sock Hop.
Pinewood Community School went back in time Friday night during the school's annual Sock Hop. The Pink Ladies were seemingly everywhere one turned, dancing alongside other girls in poodle skirts. A few boys in white T-shirts were on the dance floor, and many more were off to the side, looking cool. Some T-Bird wannabes even had items rolled up their sleeve. "It's something fun for the kids to get together," said Kirsten Whitmore, a PTO member who helped organize the event. "They even enjoy the music." The children danced to all kinds of party music, including a number of Grease hits, the Macarena and The Electric Slide. It was obvious the students — and a few parents — knew their moves.
