A hotel guest stumbled across a worrying note from an apparent kidnapping victim, according to recent Eagan police reports. At 7:39 a.m. on May 8, police responded to a suspicious person call at a hotel on the 1900 block of Rahnclif Ct. in Eagan. A hotel guest found a heavy plastic object with writing on it, which read: "Help me, I'm being kidnapped, I'm 14 years old and my name is Timmy Tortikos." Police took a report on the incident. In a separate incident, a local man asked to meet with police after his ex-girlfriend put out "reward" money on him.
Police say an enraged man took a golf club to another driver's car, breaking windows and causing other damage, after the victim cut him off while driving. The road rage incident took place at 2:20 p.m. on May 4 at the 1200 block of Town Centre Dr., according to an Eagan police report. Police say the assailant followed the offending driver to a fast food restaurant in Eagan, where he beat on the victim's car with a golf club before leaving. But the incident didn't stop there. After the attack, the victim followed the assailant to a nearby grocery store. There, he took down the license plate number of the assailant's vehicle and called police. Police responding to a medical call in Eagan found a feces-covered, heavily-intoxicated couple living in a "trash house," according to the most recent Eagan police reports. Police and medical personnel were dispatched to a home at 11:06 p.m. on April 28 after a 51-year-old man told authorities that he was suffering from an apparent overdose, and that his girlfriend was spitting up blood. Emergency responders found the couple living in squalor in a home on the 1700 block of Deerwood Drive. The home was covered with feces and urine, and alcohol containers were scattered throughout the residence, according to police. A 30-year-old man told police he met a woman at a local bar, then brought her back to his hotel room—only to be robbed in an apparent setup. Police responded to a robbery call at 3:02 p.m. on April 15 at a hotel on the 1900 block of Rahncliff Ct. The caller told police his or her stepson had been threatened and robbed in a setup that began at a nearby bar. The victim told police he met a woman at the bar the previous evening and took her back to a hotel room. In a separate incident, an Eagan woman called police twice after catching her neighbor videotaping her while she was out running.
An Eagan resident caught a lucky break when a basement fire in his home was likely doused by water from a broken fish tank. The resident, who lived on the 3300 block of Rolling Hills Dr., called emergency responders just after 8:30 p.m. on March 30, when he returned home from a long trip and found smoke in his home. Police and fire units evaluated the home, and determined the fire began in the basement. There's no word in the official police report whether any of the fish survived. March 27 3:34 p.m.—Police responded to a suspicious person call at a hotel on the 2700 block of Hwy. 55. A pair of shoplifters stole $1,200 of "Sensational Nail Gel Polish" from an Eagan business on March 24, according to the latest edition of the Eagan police reports. Police responded to a theft call just before 3 p.m. from a business on the 1200 block of Town Centre Dr. The caller said two women entered the store and made off with a prodigious amount of nail polish. Police responded to a drunkenness call at a gas station on the 4200 block of Hwy. 13 at 4:40 a.m. on March 17. The caller told police an intoxicated female was in the business' bathroom for over 45 minutes and wouldn't open the door. Before police could arrive, the woman stumbled out of the bathroom and told the clerk she broke up with her boyfriend that night. The woman left in her vehicle, at which point she was stopped and arrested on suspicion of a fourth-degree DWI and illegal consumption of alcohol. Police found a large baggy of meth and multiple pills on a male suspect after officers stopped a vehicle with two occupants inside at 12:06 a.m. on March. 13. One of the two occupants had an outstanding warrant for possession of methamphetamine. A female occupant in the vehicle also gave police permission to search a nearby hotel room in Eagan.
