Dakota County emergency responders and the Miesville Fire Department battled a house fire in Miesville last Friday. The home sustained signifcant damage, but no one was home at the time of the fire, according to the Dakota County Sheriff's Office. On another note, the Dakota County Sheriff's Office honored several jail correctional employees for their exceptional performance at a ceremony last Saturday. Correctional Deputy Tim Parker was named "Correctional Deputy of the Year," and Correctional deputy Brett Biffle was named "Rookie of the Year".
