With their investigation hampered by intoxicated witnesses, police are still searching for a suspect or suspects in the case.
Police have identified the woman shot in the back during an apparent road rage incident in Eagan on Sunday morning. The 26-year-old victim is Kimberly Lawrence, a Rosemount resident, according to Eagan Police Chief Jim McDonald. Lawrence, who sustained a "non-fatal" shoulder wound, was transported to Regions Hospital on Sunday following the shooting. Police say Lawrence was one of eight people riding in a Volkswagen Jetta in Eagan early on Sunday morning. Police say the confrontation started when a dark-colored SUV began tailgating the Jetta, driven by 28-year-old Grant Hengy of St. Paul. When Hengy made an obscene gesture at the driver of the SUV, an occupant of the SUV responded by opening fire on Hengy's vehicle. One round struck …

Investigators are looking for a dark-colored SUV. Police say an occupant of the vehicle shot at another car twice, wounding one of the passengers.

A 26-year-old woman was wounded in the shoulder during the incident, which took place arond 2:20 a.m. on Sunday on northbound Interstate 35E between Cliff and Diffley Roads in Eagan, according to an Eagan Police Department representative.
