Man Stole Nearly $3,000 in Blu-Rays from Eagan Target to "Make Ends Meet," Police Say

Scott Thomas Hodge, of Apple Valley, is accused of shoplifting from a Target store in Eagan.

An Apple Valley man accused of stealing nearly $3,000 in Blu-Ray discs from an Eagan Target allegedly told police he planned to sell the stolen items to help his family "make ends meet." Scott Thomas Hodge, 33, a single count of felony theft, according to a criminal complaint filed by the Dakota County Attorney's Office. If convicted, Hodge could face a maximum of five years in prison and $10,000 in fines. On May 7, police were called to the Target in Eagan on a shoplifting report. Officers located the suspect, Hodge, upon arrival, and allegedly found a large quantity of Blu-Ray movies hidden in a diaper bag. Danielle Theresa Demars, 38, faces one count of felony, fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance, one misdemeanor count of theft and one petty misdemeanor count of possession of drug paraphernalia. Charges: Eagan Woman Shoplifted $1,400 in Merchandise from Target

Police say Paige LaVonne Jones-Smith stole more than $1,400 worth of merchandise from Target in Richfield, and had 64 oxycodone tablets in her car when she was arrested.

Paige LaVonne Jones-Smith, also known as Paige LaVonne Cox, 25, is charged with two felonies: Fifth-degree drug possession, which carries a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine, and theft, which has a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine. Woman Previously Charged in Eagan Steak-Knife Incident Now Accused of Shoplifting

Police say Shelly Jean Brown—already facing a criminal charge after police say she chased an Eagan man down the street waving a steak knife—tried to steal more than $1,000 worth of items from the Burnsville Target store.

Police say an Apple Valley man used his own underwear as a shoplifting tool in a store heist in Eagan. Matthew Arthur Albrecht, 26, faces one felony count of possession of burglary or theft tools and one misdemeanor count of theft following an unusual shoplifting incident on May 9 at an Eagan business. Officers were dispatched at 11:14 a.m. to the store, located on Town Centre Drive, after a caller reported that store employees were chasing a male suspect across the parking lot after watching him take store merchandise without paying. Upon arrival, employees told police they saw the suspect fumbling with some packages in one of the store aisles, and later discovered that two merchandise boxes were cut open and the contents removed. …

Police: Man Stuffed TV in Pants, Walked Out of Store

Police say the alleged shoplifter also had stolen brake fluid, a TV remote and power cords hidden in his pants.

A 21-year-old Columbia Heights man who was having trouble keeping his pants up in a parking lot is now in trouble with the law. Eric Lee King, of Columbia Heights, faces one count of misdemeanor shoplifting and one felony count of possession of a controlled substance following the incident, which allegedly took place on Dec. 5 in Eagan. If convicted on the possession charge, King could face a maximum of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine. Police say King left a local business with a stolen 19-inch flat screen television, a TV remote, brake fluid and power cords all stuffed down his pants.
