The art park received a $10,000 grant to help fund the park's 2013 Summer Performance Series, which includes performances from the Minnesota Sinfonia, the Dakota Valley Summer Pops Orchestra and Chorale and other groups. The musical group performed in the park's Sculpture Garden as part of Caponi Art Park's Summer Performance Series. Taiko drumming—an ancient Japanese art form—is derived from traditional drumming and martial arts-inspired movement. The word 'taiko' is Japanese for 'big drum.'
