Police: Two Teens Fall Through Thin Ice on Hay Lake
Both victims were walking on the ice to retrieve a ball when the ice collapsed, according to authorities.

On Dec. 2, 2012, at 3:22 PM, the Eagan Police Department received a report of two 15-year-old boys who fell through the ice on Hay Lake near South Oaks Park. They were walking on the ice to retrieve a ball when the ice collapsed. Fortunately, the two only fell waist deep into the frigid water where they were able to wade to shore without the assistance of the first responders. Although the boys appeared unharmed, paramedics transported them to Ridges Hospital for an evaluation. Both were released shortly thereafter. Thankfully, no injuries occurred in this …
