I look forward to serving the residents of District Three with equal enthusiasm for the next four years. Dakota is a great County and the Dakota County Board has worked hard to keep it that way.  Dakota County has the lowest per-capita tax levy of all metropolitan area counties and the third lowest in the entire state.  We have set as a board goal to never stop …

Cramped Dakota County Morgue Services Could Move to Hennepin County

Editor's Note: Dakota County Commissioner Tom Egan represents Mendota Heights, Lilydale, Mendota and a portion of Eagan. He was elected to office in 2004 and is now serving his second four-year term. Egan writes regularly to Patch readers about county government. Mendota Heights, Mendota and Lilydale will remain intact, while parts of southern Eagan will be divided by new county districts.

Editor's Note: Dakota County Commissioner Tom Egan represents Mendota Heights, Lilydale, Mendota and a portion of Eagan. He was elected to office in 2004 and is now serving his second four-year term. Egan will write regularly to Patch readers about county government. The Dakota County Board of Commissioners recently adopted a new county commissioner redistricting plan for the next ten years. This is to meet the legal requirement of insuring the principal of "one person, one vote" to the greatest extent possible.   Counties are able to set their redistricting plans only after congressional and legislative boundaries have been set and municipalities have set their precincts. A great deal of effort went into this process to make it as fair…

What the Dakota County district borders will be in the wake of redistricting will be a topic of discussion at the Administrative Finance and Planning Committee meeting next Tuesday.
