Brodkorb Charged With DUI, Careless Driving in Connection to January Crash

The former Senate staffer and Eagan resident was seriously injured on Jan. 23 when he lost control of his vehicle on the Interstate 35E bridge near Lilydale.

Eagan resident Michael Brodkorb—a former Senate staffer whose meteoric rise in the GOP ranks once made headlines—now faces criminal charges in connection to a traffic accident in January. Lilydale City Attorney Thomas Lehmann charged Brodkorb with two misdemeanor counts of fourth-degree DUI, one misdemeanor count of careless driving and one petty misdemeanor seatbelt violation, according . If convicted on one of the DUI charges, Brodkorb could face a maximum of 90 days in jail and a $1,000 fine. The seatbelt violation is a petty misdemeanor punishable with a $300 fine. Suicidal Sex Offender in Six-Hour Standoff Charged with Fleeing Police

Oudone Xiong, who clung to a bridge railing over the Mississippi River last week for almost six hours, has been charged with fleeing police in a high-speed chase that culminated in the bridge standoff.

A suicidal convicted sex offender who caused a six-hour standoff with police last week by clinging to a bridge over the Mississippi River has been charged in Dakota County with leading Eagan police on the high-speed chase that culminated in the standoff.   Oudone Xiong, 37, of St. Paul is charged in Dakota County with fleeing a peace officer in a motor vehicle, a felony with a maximum penalty of three years in prison and a $5,000 fine. According to the Dakota County complaint, Eagan police were called to help Ramsey County in tracking down Xiong, who had apparently told his parole officer that he was thinking about killing himself. Woman Previously Charged in Eagan Steak-Knife Incident Now Accused of Shoplifting

Police say Shelly Jean Brown—already facing a criminal charge after police say she chased an Eagan man down the street waving a steak knife—tried to steal more than $1,000 worth of items from the Burnsville Target store.

According to the criminal complaint, Burnsville police were called to Target just before 8 p.m. July 14 on a shoplifting report.
