VIDEO: Meet the Finalists for Eagan's City Administrator Job

Susan Arntz, Matthew Fulton, David M. Osberg and Robert Padmore are all vying for the city's top administrative position, which will be vacant following the February retirement of current City Administrator Tom Hedges.

Susan Arntz, Matthew Fulton, David Osberg and Robert Padmore are all vying for the city's top administrative position. Longtime Eagan City Administrator Tom Hedges, who has served for more than three decades, will be retiring at the beginning of February.

City of Eagan Names Four Finalists in Search for New Administrator

The four finalists include the current city administrators of Hastings and Waconia, an assistant city administrator in Sioux City and a West Coast consultant.

After receiving 39 applications for the position, city officials working with Twin Cities recruitment firm Brimeyer Fursman selected four finalists for the job. The Eagan City Council will interview the candidates on Jan. 17 and Jan. 18 and the city will hold an informal public reception for the finalists at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday evening at the Eagan Community Center. Four Eagan High School Students Named National Merit Scholarship Finalists

A total of 16 students from District 196 were included in a list of finalists.

Editor's Note: The following is a press release from School District 196. All 16 District 196 high school seniors who were named semifinalists in the fall have now been named finalists in the 2011-12 National Merit Scholarship Program. As finalists, they are eligible to compete for the more than 8,300 merit scholarships, totaling more than $34 million, which will be awarded this spring.
