Help Wanted: Three Jobs in Medicine

Two local clinics are hiring for a medical assistant, an RN and a family physician.

This position entails 64 hours per two-week period. Applicant must be a graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program or LPN program, with previous experience in an clinic setting. Current certification by the AAMA preferred. Current BLS certification required upon hire or obtained within 30 days of hire.   

The Medical Assistant will gather information and documents to support the patient visit.  The medical assistant is responsible for adhering to all policies, procedures and practice guidelines, promoting teamwork with all members of the health care team, maintaining complete, timely and accurate clinical documentation for each patient and continually looking for opportunities to improve processes and workflow. Some of the typical day-to-day duties with this position include rooming patients, taking vitals and health history, documenting in an electronic medical record, giving injections and assisting with minor procedures.

Registered Nurse, Urgent Care at Fairview's Eagan Clinic

Hours are "casual," any shift. Current Minnesota licensure is required, along with BLS certification (through Red Cross or American Heart Association or 1.5 Hr. AHA or ARC BLS/AED for healthcare provider), and phone triage experience. One year of previous RN experience in an ambulatory care setting is strongly preferred.

The registered nurse is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, and providing professional nursing care for patients in an ambulatory care setting. While following established standards and protocols, the registered nurse delivers care that is sensitive to the unique needs of the ages served by the clinic. The RN provides professional nursing care for clinic patients following established nursing standards and practices. As a member of the care team, the RN supports quality patient and family-centered care principles through performing a variety of high level functions within a care team to support the needs of the healthcare team and patients/families. The nurse will educate patients and the public about various medical conditions, maintain complete, timely and accurate clinical documentation for each patient and continually look for opportunities to improve processes and workflow.  

Family Medicine Physician, OB optional at Allina's Eagan Location

Allina Medical Clinic is looking for an MD to staff its Eagan Clinic. The MD's responsibilities would be 100 percent outpatient care, "nighttime phone call with about 1:10 rotation." Qualified candidates will be Board Certified or Board Eligible (BC/BE) in family practice and a Minnesota license is required. Experience with electronic medical records is a plus.
