A Fake Roof Inspector, Odd Solicitors and a Pumpkin: Eagan Police Blotter

In another report, a mail truck and a school bus collide with no injuries to the occupants.

Nov. 20

9:48 a.m. - Midwest Carriers, LLC in Eagan reported that someone had stolen a company semi-truck. The truck had been missing since Nov. 13.

Nov. 21

11:30 a.m. - Police received a report of a suspicious person on the 4200 block of Sunrise Road. A male was seen walking through backyards. He then placed a bag in a group of evergreens and walked away.

11:31 a.m. - An employee at the Walgreens on Cliff Road was accused of stealing 300 tablets of hydrocodone.

4:13 p.m. - A mail truck and bus collided at the intersection of Avalon Avenue and Vilas Lane. The driver of the mail truck may not have realized that there had been a collision and left the scene. There were 10 kids on the bus, which came from a school in District 196. There was minor damage to the bus and no injuries.

9:46 p.m. - A resident reported a burglary at the 4200 block of Weschester Circle. Someone had smashed the sliding glass door. The burglars appeared to have gone throughout the entire house and stolen jewelry, coins and other items. Lights were on when the homeowner came home. The owner noted that two solicitors, a male and female, had come to the door the day before the burglary. The owner thought that the solicitors had behaved oddly.  

Nov. 22

2:15 p.m. - A business on the 1400 block of Yankee Doodle Road reported that someone may have tried to scam them over the phone. The caller claimed to be from Xcel and told them that they hadn’t paid their bill. The business uses Dakota Electric and did not send the caller any money.

4:29 p.m. - A witness saw three men rummaging through a vehicle in the Kindercare Learning parking lot on Krestwood Lane. The men broke a window and stole a purse.

5:59 p.m. - Someone stole a license plate from a vehicle at the Blackhawk Park and Ride.

11:30 p.m. - Someone threw a pumpkin through the window of a home on the 1200 block of Balsam Trail East. Police did not have any suspects.

Nov. 23

12:59 p.m. - Police officers removed 15 people from one hotel room at the request of the Residence Inn on Eagandale Place. The guests were having a loud party, and three were cited for minor consumption of alcohol.

10:53 a.m. - A man claiming to be a city roof inspector was actually the ex-husband of a woman whose wedding was later in the day. The caller wanted the incident documented. Police advised the caller to notify police if the ex-husband appeared at the wedding.

Nov. 24

2:29 a.m. - Police received a call about an intoxicated man at the SuperAmerica on Yankee Doodle Road. He could barely walk and had difficulty getting back into the car. The report also noted that he was drooling on his shirt. He then drove slowly onto Yankee Doodle Road. The man and the passenger were sent to detox.
