UPDATED: Man Dies After Eagan Crash Friday Morning

A 58-year-old man died at the hospital after a Friday morning crash in Eagan at Clubview Drive and Lexington Avenue.

The man who drove the van that landed upside down in a pond in Eagan has died, according to a news release from the Dakota County Sheriff's Office

The 58-year-old man was driving on Clubview Drive on Friday morning when he lost control of his vehicle as he approached Lexington Avenue. His vehicle landed upside down in a collection pond located near the intersection. 

The crash was first reported at 7:33 a.m., and the Eagan Fire Department arrived shortly after the crash, according to the release. The man had to be extricated from the vehicle and then he was transported to Regions Hospital in St. Paul. He died at the hospital.

His name has not been released. The Ramsey County Medical Examiner's Office is assisting in the investigation. 

According to the release, the Eagan Police Department requested assistance from the Dakota County Sheriff's Office because the vehicle landed in "a body of water."

A man was rescued from a van Friday morning after it landed in a pond, according to KARE 11 and CBS Local.

The incident occurred around 7:30 a.m. on Lexington Road and Clubview Drive, KARE 11 reports. The van hit a retaining wall before landing in the pond.

The man, the only person in the van, was transported to Regions Hospital, according to KARE 11
