Eagan Native Inducted into 'M' Club Hall of Fame

Natalie Darwitz graduated from Eagan High School and played hockey at the University of Minnesota.

An Eagan native and graduate of Eagan High School was inducted into the University of Minnesota's "M" Club Hall of Fame on Thursday, according to a story on the Minnesota Golden Gophers website

Natalie Darwitz was one of ten athletes inducted into the hall of fame. Darwitz played hockey at the University of Minnesota from 2002-2005. She has records in season points and assists and has 21 Olympic medals, according to the Gophers story.

Darwitz is currently the head coach of the Lakeville South girls hockey team. Her father, Scott Darwitz, coached girls hockey at Eagan High School for several years. He retired last year.

There are four categories that form the criteria for induction into the Hall of Fame. Those four criteria are, as described in the information on the Gophers website:

  • Significant accomplishments by a former student-athlete
  • Significant achievements by a former coach or administrator
  • Significant contributions of time, talent or resources to the athletics department by someone other than an athlete, coach or administrator
  • Significant professional achievement by a former Minnesota student-athlete
