What Should Eagan do with Sperry Water Tower?

Share your ideas with the city by taking a six to eight question survey.

The City of Eagan has invited residents to participate in a quick survey to give city officials feedback on the Sperry water tower.

The Sperry water tower is located around Towerview Road and Pilot Knob Road. It was built in 1967 and no longer holds any water, according to the city. Currently the city collects a total of about $150,000 a year from cell phone companies that use the 166-foot tower to place antennas.

Maintaining the tower could cost the city "between $500,000 to $600,000 in structural repairs, painting, and proper environmental disposal if old paint chips are removed."

The survey has six to eight questions, including open ended questions to allow residents to provide additional ideas, according to the city. Take the survey here: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/WBVRHFW. The survey link is also on the city website

It will remain available until Feb. 4, and the city council will discuss the results at the city council work session on Feb. 11.
